Peribahasa Inggeris - Melayu

Postby AsNiza » 12 Jun 2011, 02:38

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim..

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Sukacita, saya ingin berkongsi peribahasa bahasa inggeris dan bahasa melayu.. Kalau kawan2 ingin berkongsi sekali, pun boleh juga =)

1) I say less, but i think more.
=One who thinks a lot will say less.
=Lebih banyak berfikir daripada berkata-kata.

2) It's a long lane that has no turning.
=Nothing goes on forever, change is inevitable. Bad times do not last forever. There will come a time when things will improve.
= Air takkan pasang selalu

3) It is always in season for old men to learn.
=It is very common for an adult to continue learning.
=Beramal ibadatlah sementara belum terlambat.

4) It is never to late to try.
= One can always try. Nothing like trying.
= Belum cuba belum tahu.

-----------------

Orait, sekian dulu utk kali ini.. Kalau nak tahu lagi, tunggu 'episod' yg seterusnya, ya..

Tapi mcm abu suhayl tu, rasanya tak betul, kan? hehe.. Bukan gitu laa.. Itu dah macam translate secara literal saja.. :-?

Orait, kasik lagi beberapa contoh lain ya..

5) Come down to earth
=Berpijak di bumi nyata

6) Courtesy cost nothing
=Budi bahasa tidak dijual beli

7) Crime does not pay
= Jenayah membawa padah

8) Cry for the moon
= Pungguk merindukan bulan
= Menanti kucing bertanduk

9) Crying over split milk
= Nasi sudah menjadi bubur
